About Marlene Krueger

Rythm and poetry flow as I paint and create art. As if there's a conductor within directing my hand to hold the brush, as I interpret and express a picture from what I personally see and feel. I get an immediate access to the right side of the brain, where dreams take place, and original ideas are conceptualized. When I finish a piece and step back, I'm in awe at what I just created.
When I produce a video, such as with some of the examples on my video a day calendars, I produce in the same manner as how I would paint on canvas from start to finish. In video there's story boarding, the screenplay, stage, camera work, people and the editing suite. Every single element involved holds a single idea. Then it's how the light, colors, line, shape, texture, etc., are composed. Creating a scene is like a performance in itself, of being in half dream-like state and awake while operating the camera. A balancing act. So it's important to be directly involved with the whole video process from start to finish -- the preproduction, principal photography, and post productions, because in every second of the process, access from the right side of the brain makes the movie complete.
I work with Final Cut Pro for editing, so it's perfect and intuitive for a fine artist such as myself. The keyboard on the computer is like a musical instrument where I close my eyes and compose a soundtrack for the movie. Even when I write a screenplay or write music for the movie, everything comes together, as trusted. My heart, soul and mind combined is the director.
The duration, positive content, music, history, after-effects, titles and the interaction with my audience is a work of art. People who are overwhelmed with the thought of doing a video production come to me because I am a complete video production package. And I help them.
In conclusion, I give credit to the countless hours spent in the museums and galleries at AIC (The Art Institute of Chicago). Where studying art history and the works of the old masters in the top art schools in the world, was sacred. I felt connected with the art masters' creations, as they were like living pieces. After writing thousands of words about their work, I began inventing model art projects for the future. I felt I had so much to offer the world even before graduation. I was trained with a multi-media of layers for my canvas, and it shows in my work whether its oil on cavas, watercolor painting, sculpture or video. It's about being the complete package.
